The Running Ostrich earring is inspired by the art of basket weaving, a tradition passed on from generation to generation, handed down from mother to daughter. Botswana baskets are hand woven from Mokola leaves, decorated with patterns inspired by the natural world and are widely recognised to be the finest on the continent.

Running Ostrich takes its name from the largest flightless bird in the world that lives in Africa, the pattern has been woven into traditional basketry in the Okavango Delta.

The Mokola Collection is created in support of and in collaboration with Ngamiland Basket Weavers Trust, with Beabond donating 20% of the profits from this collection to Ngamiland Basket Weavers Trust.

I absolutely love the collaboration with Ngamiland weavers trust, it’s definitely why I ordered them (other than just because they’re so beautiful), but because I am also so passionate about what they stand for in preserving and promoting Botswana’s heritage and craft
